Did you know older adults have higher risks for hospitalization from foodborne illness?

As data from the CDC shows, food safety is absolutely essential for adults 65 and older.

To maintain food safety among older populations, remember these key steps:

Clean: Wash hands, utensils and surfaces thoroughly and often. These are the easiest way bacteria spreads to your food and family.

Separate: Separate raw meat and poultry from ready-to-eat foods.

Cook: Ensure food is cooked to right temperature.

Chill: Refrigerate raw meat and poultry as well as cooked leftovers promptly (within 2 hours).
